The 10th Cross-Strait IT Industry and Standards Forum, jointly held by SINOCON Industrial Standards Foundation, Chinese Electronics Standardization Association, and China Communications Standards Association on October 21 and 22 in Taipei, reached a consensus on establishing common standards for next-generation mobile communications, cloud computing, flat display, etc., as reported by the Economic Daily News on October 23. Common standards for TD-LTE (Time Division Long Term Evolution) and VoLTE (Voice over LTE) will be implemented through cross-strait endeavor to enhance multi-mode multi-band capability of TD-LTD chips. Data sharing and cooperation mechanism and cloud computing data center standards will also be established. Both parties also agreed to set standards for flexible display and touch panel technologies and strive to apply for international standards.
